We recently completed the Barnes Jewish St. Peters Hospital using Integrated Project Delivery, a model in which our expertise is well respected. Also designed by Pratt, as a consultant to Albert Kahn Associates, is the 866,000-square-foot Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, one of the first facilities built from the ground up using the Planetree patient-centered model that focuses on healing and nurturing the body, mind and spirit. In addition, our firm is a member of the Long Wave Group™, a self-assembled, multi-disciplinary organization of industry leaders brought together to address the unsustainable model of healthcare by integrating advances in care concepts, built environment and technology.
Art in Architecture
Pratt was a pioneer in the integration of unique art into architecture. We know that a healthcare building is a highly visible reflection of the owner’s distinct culture. Our team therefore works diligently to convey in physical form our client’s philosophy and belief system. We take the time to understand the mission and services of our client, as well as the fabric of the surrounding community. We then devise a set of appropriate symbols that become the virtual “DNA” for our creative direction. Finally, our team creates a complete, supportive identity package for both the exterior and interior of the facility.
