Creativity, energy and openess were three of the goals we established for the development of our office environment. Our allowance from the buildings owner was $25 per square foot. To accomplish these goals within budget we created a semi-enclosed entry space that contained custom millwork and upscale finishes. Although it is a small percentage of the overall area, it has a large visual effect upon visitors and employees. By concentrating our resources in a small area of high impact, we were able to create an impression that follows people during their visit. The rest of our office is open, promoting a very flat organizational structure.

This project involved the design and construction of a boutique day-spa in a 2,100 square foot “vanilla box”. It required the design of a retail area, nail salon, five massage rooms, locker room and staff/support areas. The main objectives in the design were maximizing storage and revenue space (retail & massage rooms), while staying consistent with a clean floor plan and urban-hip design scheme.

The outcome of the project was a great success. Pratt Design Studio divided the overall space into two – one being the retail/nail salon area and the second being the massage/spa area. The retail/nail salon has a bright energetic feel – the orange curved wall setting the tone when you first walk in. As you transgress into the spa area- the same color palette it used but more subdued and tone-on-tone. The aqua blue and white sheers throughout the space soften the walls and in the spa create a very ethereal feel.
