Unique Design Identity

Unique Design Identity

By intergrating fine art into architectual design, we are able to createa high-impact physical manifestation of the philosophy of an institution- in other words, a unique design identity. To create this identity, our team works with the client to understand unique qualities based on mission, location, surroundings, services and beliefs. Using symbols of these qualities, our team then creates a unique identifier. This custom pattern becomes the "DNA" of our creative direction and appears in the exterior and interior of the building. The development of the unique identifier also leads to the creating of a uniform, integrated thought process with consistent finishes and materials.

As a firm, we have been successful in implementing a unique identifier using several forms: precast molds, cast resin technology, stereo lithography and glass etching. The precast concrete method is especially unique. A 3D computer file is created and sent to the precast concrete supplier. An easily reproducible rubber mold is then created and placed in the precast panel mold. The result is a finely detailed panel that more closely resembles cut stone than a traditional concrete panel. 3D printing technology will soon enable us to give a fabricator finished art from which to create a mold.
